Spotlight On

Call off the search, we've found your perfect shades – and just in time for summer. Giving old-school shapes a modern uplift, Oscar Deen is set to be your new go-to sunglasses brand.

For the creative duo behind new London-based label Oscar Deen, the past is the best place to look for inspiration. Sharing an old-school sensibility, they frequently trawl vintage markets and antique stores around Europe in search of unique yet timeless sunglasses that have stood the test of time.

Back at their studio, they work their finds into hand-finished, contemporary designs using Italian-made acetate. The resulting collection is imbued with nostalgia, but contemporary detailing keeps the frames fresh. According to the designers, it's the mix between "old style and new thinking" that makes their sunglasses special.

A curated edit of retro frames has inspired the collection: from made-in-France, found-in-Paris tortoiseshell glasses to bold '60s bifocals. The team takes the best of these designs and adds modern touches. It might be as simple as boxing off the edges or lifting the bridge, but for Oscar Deen, it's all in the details.

The final frames are crafted from Italian-made acetate, and the lightweight plastic lenses finished with a protective UV coating. Each pair of Oscar Deen sunglasses comes with a bespoke handmade case, made by fellow Londoner and leather artisan Otis Ingrams. Sound like your kind of shades? Shop the entire collection here.
