LESSONS IN COLOUR FROM THE LONDON FASHION SET

The saturation dial was turned all the way up at London Fashion Week. You may think you know how to wear colour, but the street style set have a next-level grasp on the combinations we should buy into...

The global style set arrived to London for fashion week just in time for Storm Dennis to roll in; but they didn't let the weather stand in the way of their colourful outfit plans. The streets were teeming with rainbow hues, with rich shades of green and lilac taking centre-stage. Super-sized outerwear was adorned with vibrant prints and outfits were elevated with high-voltage accessories. Even the umbrellas looked purposefully chic.

Needless to say, we're ready for spring. So we couldn't have been happier to see that Fashion Week attendees ditched winter tones in favour of mood-boosting colour combinations. Keep scrolling to see our favourite looks...

Tonal dressing took the limelight this Fashion Week. Tastemaker Blanca Scrimieri's cheery green and white ensemble kept the storm at bay, while designer Tamara Kalinic walked on neutral ground in a chic caramel combo. Top-to-toe neutrals broke up the technicolour parade, with attendees offsetting varying shades of beige against each other (yes, varying shades of beige do exist).

Have an affinity for accessories? Let the finishing touches do the talking and opt for highlighter hues when selecting your outfit add-ons. Show attendees Leonie Hanne and Emilie Sindlev made impactful strides in neon boots, keeping the rest of their looks (relatively) subdued. This is a trend we could get behind.

Make double the statement in a colourful printed look, like insta style guru Renata Jazdzyk, who looked effortlessly elegant in a romantic floral coat. Fashion editor Pénélope Goldstone ticked numerous trend boxes, opting for a checked pistachio, puff-sleeved co-ord. She cleverly layered her Little Women-esque look over a staple cream turtleneck - it is February, after all.
